Dear AISM Primary School Parents,
I trust this message finds you all well. Let me begin by saying a big thank you to all of our incredible AISM parents for your support and partnership during these first seven weeks of school. The complexities of navigating virtual pathways of learning is hard and requires a true partnership amongst all members of a learning community. At AISM we are fortunate to have such a committed group of parents who care deeply about the success and wellbeing of our learners.
AISM is also blessed to have a dedicated and talented staff who have been working tirelessly to find ways to engage and connect with each learner to develop a sense of belonging and community. Each day I am filled with appreciation for our teachers and staff who continue to reimagine what's possible and redefine their practice and ways of working. Finally, I want to honour our learners who have been absolutely inspiring and courageous as they have navigated along these virtual learning pathways developing the skills and approaches to learning to become empowered learners who are flourishing in an ever-changing world.
This week we welcomed back our Grade 11 and 12 learners to campus as they led us in Reuniting the Herd! The primary school inspection team visited our campus on Monday, October 12th. The visit went well and we are expecting their positive recommendation for official authorization to allow our primary learners to return to on-campus learning. We are planning to phase in all primary grades over time, following the examples of effective practices implemented by many other international schools across Africa and the world. The AISM leadership team should be able to share more information about our timeline for phasing all grades back to campus next week. For this reason I would like to cordially invite you to attend a Primary Parent Voice meeting on Tuesday, October 20th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Maputo time.
This Primary Parent Voice meeting will be an opportunity for parents and administration to work together towards a successful return to campus for Primary learners. Together, we will explore some of the ideas, plans and complexities related to bringing learners back on campus, as well as any questions or wonderings brought forth by our parent community concerning reuniting the herd.

Thank you for your consideration, and I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, October 20th.
