Welcome - bem-vindo - to AISM and the Buffalo Herd!

I am excited to introduce you to the American International School of Mozambique. Situated on a beautiful, 10-acre, purpose-built campus a few hundred meters from the shores of the Indian Ocean, AISM offers the most robust academic and extracurricular programs of any school in Mozambique. Tomorrow's diplomatic, business, educational, and scientific leaders are enrolled in our school today.

With more than 70 nationalities in our tight-knit community, which we affectionately call The Herd, AISM is a place where cultures converge and diversity thrives. Our highly-qualified multinational faculty provides a world-class International Baccalaureate education in service of our mission to pursue excellence by empowering learners to achieve mastery of self, advance their communities, and flourish in an ever-changing world.   Ensuring the safety and protection of children is a top priority for every adult, parent, and student within the AISM community. We are committed to the following actions:

  • Education and Awareness: AISM will provide education and information to all stakeholders regarding their right to safety and how they can promote respect within the community.
  • Safe Recruitment: AISM will employ secure and compliant recruitment and hiring methods that align with child protection policies. This includes the requirement for up-to-date, verified police record checks and confidential references.
  • Continuous Training and Review: AISM will regularly assess, train, and review safe practices related to personal responsibility and the reporting structure for all employees.
  • Investigation and Reporting: AISM will uphold rigorous investigative and reporting procedures whenever concerns or issues related to child protection are raised.
