AISM Today
Over the past 33 years, the American International School of Mozambique (AISM) has experienced significant growth. Today, the school boasts a diverse student body of over 515 students hailing from more than 70 different countries. They are guided and supported by a dedicated team of over 90 professional teachers and staff members. Established in 1990, AISM is an IB World School that offers a comprehensive US-style college preparatory program spanning from Early Learning Center (ELC) through grade 12. AISM thrives as a collaborative partnership involving motivated students, committed parents, and highly qualified staff members. Together, they cultivate an educational environment designed to inspire students to develop their unique talents and perspectives. The curriculum at AISM provides students with a well-rounded and stimulating educational experience that emphasizes excellence, ethical principles, and active engagement in learning. AISM holds recognition and support from the US State Department Office of Overseas Schools and holds accreditation from the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. Additionally, the school is authorized to offer the Diploma Programme of the International Baccalaureate, the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), and the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). Instruction is conducted primarily in English, and the school follows a standard northern hemisphere academic calendar, commencing classes in mid-August and concluding in mid-June. The curriculum at AISM is focused on the requirements and philosophical tenets of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme for Grades 11-12 and the MYP and PYP for ELC-10. |
